Join us for the  2nd Annual Faith and Families Summit in Jefferson City.

We are asking our state representatives to work with us to stabilize families by increasing children’s access to health care, regulating predatory ( pay day) loans and finding state solutions to foreclosures.

7:00 am           Kansas City caravans will depart from Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church, 2310 East Linwood Blvd, Kansas City, MO 

 Breakfast will be served.

11:00 am        Legislative Briefing and Lunch at the Capitol, Hearing Room 3 in the basement.

11:00 am        Inter-Religious Roundtable at the Capitol Building, Hearing Room 7 in the basement. Clergy and denominational leaders from across the state will convene to seek solutions to issues hurting families and impacting congregations.

1:00 pm          Faith and Family Rally at the Capitol Building, Third Floor Rotunda.

Background

Last April, the religious leaders of CCO organized the Faith and Families Summit in Jefferson City, MO.  It was a first-of-its-kind event with over 200 clergy, denominational and lay leaders traveling from across the state to the capitol. Their testimonies and solutions were heard by 53 legislators and the Lt. Governor.

The Director of Social Services, the Director of Medicaid and 18 legislators pledged their support for at least one of CCO’s proposals to cover more low-income children and adults with health insurance.

Registration Donations Requested: $20 per person will help cover the cost of food, materials and transportation. Children are welcome. There is no additional donation request for children.
